Full Swing and a Few Hiccups

We’re in the midst of high wedding season over here at Amber Engfer Photography, which is why you probably haven’t heard from me in a while! That, wrapped up with some seriously ill-timed technical difficulties with my editing program, prepping for our little man’s SECOND birthday, and a dash of cold/flu sickness has gotten me very behind on blogging. If you’ve been following my Facebook page (feel free to like my page while your at it!) you may have seen a few exclusive sneak peeks in the past month – if not, today is your lucky day! I’ve snagged a few minutes out of this glorious Monday to give a quick peek on what I’m working on. Amanda and Bryan: Engaged!

Amanda and Bryan are proof that if you have a new puppy as your door greeter prior to your engagement session, you can effectively distract your photographer long enough to pretty much get whatever you want from her… fortunately, they didn’t take advantage! Note to future clients: I love me some puppies – I even contemplated (and mentioned… multiple times) canceling A&B’s session in turn for a few hours of some serious puppy playtime. Puppy-napping may have crossed my mind… I KID!!!! (maybe) I was so distracted, it never even crossed my mind to PHOTOGRAPH said puppy – some photographer I am! In my defense, we never planned to bring little Barkley along with us, but really, step it up, Amber! Consider this future warning to all clients, if there are any baby animals in your home during the time of your session, I’ll be on your front stoop 15 minutes early to incorporate a mini furry photo session…

I’ve known Amanda and Bryan for some time now and I’m fully convinced that they’re made for each other – fate stepped in to introduce these two, and they’ve been laughing and loving each other ever since. Bryan grew up in St Paul, and A&B reside there now, so it was only natural that we spend an afternoon exploring the town, chatting it up, enjoying the Van Halen concert groupies and, of course, taking a few photos. I can’t stress enough how seriously awesome an engagement sessions can be! Not only do we get to snap a few pictures for future generations to ogle, but it’s also a great time to discuss wedding details and get comfortable with each other prior to the big day. Amanda and Bryan were a little hesitant to have engagement photos taken, but they both commented throughout the night on how much fun they were having! I’m sure it’s my witty charm that sealed the deal… that, and the fact that they got to spend a few hours cuddling and loving each other in a (mostly) non-cheesy manor. Hey, I’m all for a LITTLE cheese – I’m from Wisconsin, remember?

Analisa and Brandon: Engaged!

Happy Thursday all!!! The weather in MN/WI has been amazing over the past week – a girl could get used to mid 60′s to 70′s in March! There’s always a possibility of snow in June, so I’m taking the sunshine with a grain of salt, and ironically, it’s given me a little time and motivation to post some extremely overdue sessions. Win Win! Lots of fun, and possibly out of season sessions to come in the next few weeks!

Analisa and Brandon contacted me in mid December regarding their wedding with a caveat that they’d be in town the next week for a crazy whirlwind Christmas trip that consisted of crossing MN/WI border at least 4 times to fit in visits with family and friends and wanted to schedule an engagement session. I was so happy to be able to work something out during border crossing number 2(?) - and end up with an amazing winter day to boot! Proof that engagement sessions don’t always have to be scheduled during the warm months – all you need is a little love… and maybe a sister that doubles as a coat holder. Never hurts, anyhow. :)
